Saturday Sweat: CrossFit Games Chipper

This week’s Saturday Sweat got off to a mismatched start.

This can only mean one thing. Laundry time.

I’ve been using my Brooks Pure Flow for CrossFit and they work really well. Like my Sweat Pink laces?

Coaches prescribing our pain.

We came in to our WOD being written up on the board. She just kept writing and writing and writing. Here’s what she wrote (I crossed out the RX weights and added the weight that I actually did).

2012 Reebok CrossFit Games Chipper:

155 50 pound Overhead squat, 10 reps
10 Box jump overs, 20″ box
135 50 pound Thruster, 10 reps
205 50 pound Power clean, 10 reps
10 Toes Knees to bar elbow
10 Burpee muscle-ups jumping pull ups
10 Toes Knees to bar elbow
205 50 pound Power clean, 10 reps
135 45 pound Thruster, 10 reps
10 Box jump overs, 20″ box
155 50 pound Overhead squat, 10 reps

This was a two-person rotation. You got to rest while your partner worked, and then switch off. I didn’t look at the time but I think it took us around 16-17 minutes?

It’s been HOT at the beach this week. I was already sweating on our 800m warm up. Once we got into it – dripping. It’s gross and great at the same time. I borrowed some wrist wraps today to see if that would help and it sure did. Wrists will sort of ache a little during things like OH squats and thrusters and be sore after. With the wraps I felt a lot more stable and a lot less sore after. My coach makes them herself. Let me know if you see some panda fabric.

Once the heat backs off I plan on getting in a run this evening. I’ve been pretty lazy about building mileage for Hood to Coast. :-/

In other news, it was shoe elimination day in Hutch’s closet. Flip flops and specialty shoes (rock climbing, slippers, etc.) did not have to participate. Also, my pair of flats and black Toms wedges did not have to qualify as they live at my work and do not contribute to the closet clutter that my bothers my husband so much. Results are in.

I have too many shoes.
